How many days are between two Hijri dates?

Does it count the start day, the end day, or both?

It counts the number of days you would add to the start date to reach the end date — the standard "difference" convention. Consecutive days differ by one.

Can I use it to count down to Ramadan or Eid?

Yes — put today as the first date and the expected festival date as the second. For the big occasions, the dedicated countdown pages tick live and carry the moon-sighting note.
