Frequently asked questions
How are these prayer times calculated?
From the sun’s position for your exact coordinates and date, using the calculation method your country commonly follows — for example Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, the Karachi method in Pakistan and India, and ISNA in North America. Our results are checked against the Aladhan prayer-time service and agree to within a minute.
Is my location stored or shared?
No. Location is only requested when you press "Use my location", and the calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
What is the difference between Standard and Hanafi Asr?
Asr begins when an object’s shadow equals its length (Standard: Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanbali) or twice its length (Hanafi). The Hanafi time is later, typically by 45–80 minutes.
Why do times differ from my mosque’s timetable?
Mosques often add a few minutes of caution (ihtiyat) or use a different Fajr and Isha angle. Choose your mosque’s method in the settings, and follow your mosque for congregation times.
